Last
week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Programs Coordinator from Presbyterian
World Service and Development (PWS&D), Kristen Winters as part of a
monitoring visit to assess the progress of various interventions under the
Enhancing Climate Resilience for Improved Income and Food Security (ECRIF)
project currently being implemented in Balaka District.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the impactful work being carried out by our participants across different thematic areas. Among the most notable highlights was the impressive progress in livestock management, where beneficiaries are applying best practices to improve animal health, productivity and household income.\
The
Programs Coordinator also observed other key interventions, including climate-smart agriculture, Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR),
savings and loan groups and post-harvest handling techniques.
These initiatives are not only strengthening food security but also enhancing
resilience within the local communities.
We
are truly inspired by the dedication and commitment of our participants. Their
success stories reflect the power of partnership and community-driven
development. The visit reaffirmed our shared commitment with PWS&D to
continue building sustainable livelihoods and fostering lasting impact.
We
are implementing the project with support from Canadian Food Grains Bank through
Presbyterian World Service and Development.
